Filling The Void

Unfold Me Please - Deborah Jaffe
Unfold Me, Please, 2007
Acrylic on paper, 30 x 42cm

In 2007/8 Deborah worked on an extensive written and visual narrative on serious illness, death and grief. This charts her own experience, as an only child, of the process of caring for an elderly, terminally ill parent and the subsequent death. This is both a harrowing and enriching account, in which the visual, in paintings and collages, take over when words are inadequate.
