Filling the Void

Filling the Void is an exploration of loss. In 2007/8 Deborah worked on an extensive written and visual narrative on serious illness, death and grief.

This charts her own experience, as an only child, of the process of caring for an elderly, terminally ill parent and the subsequent death. It is both a harrowing and enriching account, in which the visual, in paintings and collages, take over when words are inadequate.
